Rotary Club of Millennium City, Navi Mumbai (RCMC)
Established in 1994, Rotary Club of Millennium City (club id 30281) is one of the largest clubs in Navi Mumbai under The Rotary International district 3142 in Mumbai. The club currently has 40 members from various professions. These members include businessmen, professionals and top executives who have immense experience, access to resources and a passion to do service for the society.
Over the years the club has done various projects in various fields, including medical, women empowerment, e-literacy, sanitation, and support for Thalassemic and visually impaired children. It also associated with various Government, Corporate and NGO organizations to do projects that make a positive impact on the society.
Projects
Over the period of 25 years the club has done many projects that benefit the society. A few of them are listed here.
Millennium Thalassemia Center and Blood Donation Camps
Establish a Millennium Thalassemia Center in Navi Mumbai Municipal Hospital where about 70 children are given free blood transfusion regularly.
Jeevan Kiran Center
Establish a Jeevan Kiran Center for visually impaired in Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporations’ ETC center for disabled. This was established in association with National Blind Association.
Meassles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign with NMMC
Along with Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), the club has worked towards raising awareness about Meassles-Rubella Vaccination and volunteered in vaccination program
Other Projects
Continuous vocational training for women who are economically backward. This is done in association with Stree Mukti Shangatna, an NGO who is dedicated towards upliftment of women.
Provided e-learning kits to many under privileged schools. This was a CSR project done with Reliance.
An integrated development of poor /under privileged family and children residing in Navi Mumbai by providing vocational training and employment assistance for earning livelihood.
Set up a multipurpose mobile clinic to support the economically backward people of Navi Mumbai, especially the rag pickers. The Mobile clinic is supported by doctors of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, MGM Hospital and Dr. D. Y. Patil Hospitals
Rotary Millennium Seva Kendra
The Club has been conducting Millennium Seva Kendra Khichdi Ghar programs for rhe poor and the needy for the last 3 yrs except during pandemic.We do the program every Sunday at our regular location Turbhe wherein around 100 beneficiaries are distribured nutritious Khichdi meals.This is one of the flagship projects of our club.
Providing safe drinking water for Students in Schools under WINS
Our club has taken the lead in providing safe & hygienic drinking water for school students at few of the Navi Mumbai schools under the Rotary Wash in Schools(WINS) program.We keep on helping schools where there is a genuine requirement of such drinking water facilities.
